Heidi Pitre, Vice President of the Hattiesburg Arts Council,
was one of 59 artists out of 20 states, chosen to exhibit her
artwork at Baton Rouge Gallery - Center for Contemporary Art.
The sixth annual Surreal Salon, a national juried exhibition of
pop-surrealist and lowbrow art, has become highly competitive.

Only 80 works were selected by Greg Escalante, one of the
most influential voices in the pop-surrealist/lowbrow art
movement, and cofounder of "Juxtapoz", the world's most
widely distributed art magazine. The winner of this years
Surreal Salon exhibit, will be featured in a future issue of
this magazine.

"I felt honored to be a part of this up and coming
pop-surreal/lowbrow movement. The art world is constantly
moving in many drections, but this is definitely one of the
most interesting ones", say Pitre.

Heidi Pitre has also been accepted to Artfields in Lake City, SC,
a 10 day art festival that runs from April 24 to May 4th..
